Jennifer Garner :
"I love my job so much that I'd always assumed work would continue to be as important to me. But I don't want to miss a second with Violet. Even this morning, leaving her in her high chair, going 'Mama! Up, up!' I had to tear myself away. I'm certainly not the first person to feel that way about her chlid -- and she doesn't care if I work. I'm the one who misses her like a love-struck teenager."

Jennifer Garner:
[On balancing work and being a new mom] "It's definitely a struggle. You're pulled in so many different directions, and you want to do 100 percent everywhere. My sisters are working moms, and so are my friends. Any working mom -- it's hard for all of us."

Jennifer Garner:
"My friends who are actresses and who have babies are with them every day. You can work and still be totally involved with your baby."

Jennifer Garner:
"I think [work/life balance] is the primary problem of women of our age . . . how can we be everything and do it all well? I am trying to figure out how to balance it."

Jennifer Garner:
"My job is great to have as a mom, I get to take long breaks and then work hard in a really concentrated way."

Jennifer Garner:
"Ben is totally my partner in the whole thing. He'll be putting Violet to bed while I'm onstage every night -- that's just the kind of father he is."

Jennifer Garner:
I’m trying to [juggle it all], but it’s hard: I just had a year off where I put every spoonful of food into Violet’s mouth. Now I’m working and though I’m usually with her more hours than not, some days I just can’t be. That’s hard for me, and for the first time, my daughter.
Luckily my husband is a true partner, and he picks up where I leave off.
